Q1: What is the difference between BSPP (G) and NPT threads?
BSPP (G) is a parallel thread that creates a seal using a bonded washer, O-ring, or gasket at the face of the fitting. It is the dominant standard in Europe and many other parts of the world. NPT is a tapered thread, common in North America, that seals on the threads themselves (with sealant). They are not interchangeable. Stark offers both to ensure global compatibility.
Q2: Do I need thread sealant for your BSPP (G) connectors?
No. Unlike tapered threads, BSPP (G) threads do not seal on the threads. The seal is made by compressing a bonded seal washer or an O-ring between the shoulder of our male connector and the face of the female port. This provides a highly reliable, reusable seal.
Q3: Are your DIN 2353 male connectors interchangeable with Parker EO® or Swagelok®?
Our fittings are manufactured to be dimensionally compliant with the DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 standard, making them interchangeable with other brands that also adhere to this standard, such as the Parker Ermeto (EO/EO-2) series.
